The Third
In The Third, two people are confronted by a mysterious “other” who is animated by their very curiosity. Is he a representation of their own relationship (the third thing) or the personification of impermanence?
Sometimes he is the shadow of a feeling, other times he appears to be in direct pursuit of their attention. The couple flees, until time teaches them to find peace in his presence.
The Third is a re-staging of a performance previously created for Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s El Amor Brujo. Set to new music, The Third uses operatic performance elements fused with post-modern practices.
